WALL is a graduate of Appalachian State University where he majored in Health and Physical Education and minored in Education. A native of Sanford, he graduated from Union Pines High School at Cameron. He served with the U. S. Army for two years. C. DAVID DYER and JAMES W. McMILLAN were recently employed as foremen in the Converting de partment. DYER graduated from high school in his native Asheville and entered the University of North Carolina at Asheville where he received his B.A. degree in Philosophy. He is a candidate for a Master’s degree in Philosophy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was awarded the William Cullen Colburn Scholarship and the Henry Horace Williams Fellowship. McMILLAN was employed by Wintex Knitting Mills in Asheville before joining the Management Training program in July. Born in Whitmire, S. C., he graduated from high school at Greenwood. After earning an associate degree in Bus iness Administration at Asheville- Buncombe Technical Institute, he entered Mars Hill College where he was awarded a B.S. degree in Bus iness Administration. He attended Mars Hill on a trustee scholarship and was named to Who’s Who in American Junior Colleges. He served with the U. S. Navy. TERRY M. CRAWFORD was em ployed last March for work in the Ecusta transfer pool. He was a ser viceman in Winding and Calendering before his promotion to foreman in Paper Materials. A native of Tran sylvania County, he graduated from West Henderson High School where he participated in football and track and was Monogram Club president. After earning an A. S. degree in Computer Science at Wingate Junior College, he attended Appa lachian State University where he received a B.S. degree in Business Administration. JOHN D. BUCHANAN has been pro moted to superintendent of print ing in the Converting Department of theEcusta Paper Division. He joined Ecusta's Rod De with the Bureau partment in Aug ust 1954 and later worked in Ship ping before trans ferring to the Printing Depart ment 18 years ago. He was pro moted to foreman in 1969. He prev iously had worked of Engraving and Printing in Washington. He grad uated from Cullowhee High School in his native Jackson County and served in the U. S. Air Force during World War II. ELIZABETH B. STILL has been em ployed as an industrial engineer in the Technical Department of the Fine Paper and Film Group. She had been em ployed since Oc tober 1972 by Deering Milliken at the central office and at the Hillside and Live Oak plants. She completed schools in her native Spartanburg, S. C., and attended Hollins College where she graduated with a B.A. degree in Statistics. JIMMY LEE CROWE has been ap pointed foreman at paper machines 10-11-12 in the Ecusta Paper Di vision. He has held various assign ments in the Machine Room since his employment in July 1954. Be fore joining Olin he worked with Dixie Home Store (Winn-Dixie) in Brevard. He was born in Brevard and attended Bre vard High School. He completed the course in Modern Supervision of fered by Interna tiona! Correspon dence Schools. He is past presi dent of the Rosman Youth Football League. JACK S. GARREN has been pro moted to senior engineering as sociate in the Technical Depart ment of the Fine Paper and Film Group. He has served recently as manager of two major projects for the treatment of waste water from the Pisgah Forest plants: the clari fiers and related eguipment for primary treatment, and the recently completed aerated stabilization basin for secondary treatment of waste water. He also has served as manager of other con struction projects since joining Olin in February 1965. He was senior staff civil engineer prior to this ap pointment. He was born in Asheville and graduated from Asheville High School. He was elected to the Science Honor Club while a stu dent at Mars Hill College, and at Clemson University where he earned his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering he worked as a research assistant and belonged to the student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He was elected to Phi Kappa Phi fraternity. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers. C. PHILLIP ELLINGTON has joined the Technical Department as an industrial engi neer. He is a na tive of Marion where he grad uated from Plea sant Gardens High School. He served with the U. S. Army for two years before entering Danville Community Col lege where he earned a degree in Business Administration. He was on the Honors’ List in college. Prior employment was with Burling ton Industries and Dan River.
